Community Service Programs
The Beaverton Woman's Club is excited to announce this year's Community Service Programs — each leading initiatives that reflect our ongoing commitment to service in our community. As a proud affiliate of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), BWC organizes its work around GFWC's six official Community Service Programs, giving every member a meaningful way to give back:
- Arts & Culture — supporting and celebrating creative expression in our community
- Environment — caring for the natural spaces we share
- Civic Engagement & Outreach — strengthening local partnerships and meeting needs close to home
- Education & Libraries — advancing literacy and supporting local schools
- Health & Wellness — promoting the wellbeing of our members and neighbors
- Domestic & Sexual Violence Prevention & Awareness (Special Program) — standing with survivors through advocacy and awareness
Together, these six programs carry forward BWC's mission of enriching lives, strengthening community, and making a lasting impact — one initiative, one volunteer, and one neighbor at a time.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Over the years, our projects have touched countless lives, including:
- Awarding an annual $2,500 scholarship or more to a single parent returning to school at Portland Community College
- Supporting McKinney-Vento Act Program
- Donating 1,100 books to local elementary schools
Contributing $5,000 to Project School Bell, helping provide new clothes to children in need
- Supporting families at domestic violence shelters with refurbished facilities and essential supplies
- Creating comfort through Project Linus blankets
- Planting a Pinwheel Garden at City Hall each April to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention, a national GFWC initiative
- Providing holiday gifts to local families during Christmas
ROLLING UP OUR SLEEVES
Hands -on volunteering is at the heart of what we do:
- Adopt-A-Road cleanups along Hall Blvd
- Supporting local food banks
- Distributing books to elementary schools
- Community awareness with McKinney-Vento
- Project Linus comfort blankets
CONNECTION & COMMUNITY
We believe service should also be joyful. Our club offers a variety of social and enrichment activities, including:
- Family Group Socials
- Holiday Parties
- Craft Time (rocks, bookmarks, and more)
- Sips & Books
- Bingo and Bunco nights

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month, and our door is always open. Whether you’re looking to give back, make new friends, or use your talents for good, there’s a place for you here. We value the skills and experience of our members—and we’re always excited to welcome new ones.
Annual Dues: $80
One-Time Initiation Fee: $15
